The highest-rate outlier

TopCashback

TopCashback launched in the UK in 2005 and quietly built the largest published rates in the US market by adopting a radical model: pass the entire retailer commission back to the shopper, and monetize through display ads and gift-card upcharges instead. There is no minimum payout, no monthly threshold, and gift-card redemptions add another 3–5% bonus on top of the base rate. In head-to-head tests across major retailers, TopCashback beats Rakuten's published rate more often than not.

How it works

  1. 01.

Sign up at topcashback.com — the signup bonus is typically $10 after a $10 qualifying purchase, one of the easier bonuses to unlock.

  2. 02.

Search the store, click through, and shop — TopCashback's browser extension will prompt you if you land on a covered retailer without activating.

  3. 03.

Earnings post as pending within a few days and confirm after the retailer's payable window (usually 60–120 days, longer than most competitors).

  4. 04.

Withdraw to PayPal or bank at any balance, or redeem for a gift card and pocket an additional 3–5% bonus on top.

Best for

Rate-maximizers willing to wait the full 60–120 day confirmation window. The gift-card bonus makes it especially strong for shoppers who buy Amazon or Target gift cards regularly.

Watch out

Confirmation times are the longest in the industry — a purchase made today may not be withdrawable for four months. Missing-cashback claims also require you to file within 100 days of the purchase, so save your order confirmations.

The verdict

The highest published rates in US cashback and the best gift-card stacking, offset by the slowest confirmations. Best used when you know you won't need the money for six months.
